Louis Fiore

Co-Founder, Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center (MAVERIC)
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Dr. Fiore is a medical oncologist at the US Department of Veterans Affairs with and interest in re-use of health record data for epidemiological studies, clinical trials and learning healthcare system activities.  His research group in Boston proposed and launched the Million Veteran Program (MVP), currently one of the largest genomic cohorts globally and pioneered work in Point of Care (pragmatic, embedded) clinical trials.  The current emphasis of the group is on analysis of real word data to inform patient care (predictive analytics) in oncology.  The effort collapses the silos of clinical care and research to foster collaboration between these two traditionally distinct groups.
