Peter Albiez is the Country Manager of Pfizer Germany and the Lead of Internal Medicine for Pfizer Innovative Health, Germany. Peter joined Pfizer in 1996 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility within sales and marketing. In 2006 as Vice President Sales, he joined the German Leadership Team. In 2009 Peter was appointed Head of Primary Care and became a Board Member of Pfizer Germany. In March 2015, he was named Country Manager of Pfizer Germany.
He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Board of Directors of the German Association of Research (vfa), the Board of Trustees of the Federal Land Berlin/Brandenburg of „Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft“, and is also the Chairman of the Board of the Society of Friends of the MDC (Max Delbrueck Center for Molecular Medicine). Peter holds a Master of Science in Biology. He is married and has two daughters.
- A patient-centric approach in healthcare truly puts the patient first while coping with a disease, being on a therapy or even whilst trying to prevent illness. Having this in mind, the most important goal of digital technology in the healthcare system should be to eventually support the patient on his journey. In this session we will present how digital information platforms can empower patients to meet other stakeholders, such as physicians, “at eye-level” and how patients and their generated data through e.g. wearables, patches etc. can play a vital role in addressing today’s unmet medical needs.
