Presentation Theme

Potential of biobank information system within complex research processes

A biobank collects, processes and stores various biomaterials such as tissue, blood, cerebrospinal fluid or their derivatives. The biomaterials can be linked to medical information and made available for research projects to improve the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and therapy of diseases. The BIH biobank is a core facility which offers high-quality biomaterials and associated medical information. The biobank information system acts in the center of all processes and is a special information hub which connects research and clinic.
