Serge Bignens has studied engineering at the EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Pittsburgh, USA and Health Economics and Management at the University of Lausanne. He is Professor and Head of the Institute for Medical Informatics at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) and board member of the Swiss Society of Medical Informatics. He co-founded MIDATA.coop, an not for profit cooperative building and operating a secured IT platform allowing citizens to manage their personal health data and share part of it for defined clinical studies.
MIDATA: how original technology + governance bring benefits to patients and researchers ?
The presentation will describe the lessons learned through real use cases and illustrate the technology and governance chosen to be the most efficient to rapidly bring benefits to patients and researchers.
MIDATA.coop was founded in 2015 as a citizen based, not for profit, cooperative to allow citizen to store, visualize, manage and control their personal health data and to be able to share part of if to support clinical research in their fields of interest.
